AvePoint provides solutions to migrate, manage, and protect data across Microsoft 365 software and services. As part of refreshing AvePoint’s brand, I was tasked with redesigning web and social media assets to align with updated guidelines. Assets needed to appeal to AvePoint’s global and diverse customer base.

The Challenge
Existing assets did not have a consistent color palette and did not match our brand guidelines. The assets primarily used illustration, which did not resonate with viewers. The template was inconsistent, with margins, text placement, and calls to action changing from graphic to graphic. 
My task was to modernize the assets to be consistent, better than or equal to the competition, and easy to create.
The Process
I started by researching social graphics from our competitors and collaborators. Recurring elements in their graphics were: consistent image treatments, the use of background patterns, and different colored variations of the same template. I chose to incorporate those elements into the new assets.

I created two to three different graphic packages while keeping to our new red and white brand colors. The logo placement, margins, and photo frames were standardized for consistency. 
The process took four months and involved collaboration with the VP of Creative and the Director of Digital Strategy. Our finished assets were well received by internal clients, who were especially pleased to see photography instead of illustration. Our web graphics became faster to produce due to the templates, increasing the team’s capacity to turn around localized graphics on tight deadlines.
